HFF has experience working with healthcare providers on nearly every form of real estate used in the delivery of healthcare which ranges from general acute care hospitals, specialty hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, oncology centers, medical malls, outpatient clinics, and administrative and back-office needs including the adaptive re-use of retired facilities.
Due to the strategic nature of the real estate associated with the delivery of healthcare, the engagements tend to be longer-term projects which often begin as an advisory engagement to assist and identify the client’s needs, develop solutions, facilitate the decision process and ultimately provide the capital markets execution.
HFF has advised on the real estate component of various healthcare system outpatient strategies, including the adaptive re-use and new construction of medical malls and similar facilities, as well as in the sale-leasebacks of free-standing urgent care facilities.
HFF team members currently serve on the boards, foundations, and advisory councils of several major healthcare providers, including the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Mount Sinai Medical Center, Baylor Healthcare System, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, City of Hope Cancer Hospital, and Palisades Medical Center.
